Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding machine capable of forming a signature by folding a sheet without damaging the sheet or reducing the folding accuracy of the signature even if the thickness of the signature changes.SOLUTION: The folding machine includes: a rotatable folding cylinder 120 having a needle 121 for holding a sheet 1 and having a folding blade 122 for folding the sheet 1; and a rotatable gripper cylinder 130 having a gripper device for gripping and holding the sheet 1 between a gripper jaw 131 and a gripper board 132 in such a manner that a folding blade 122 of the folding cylinder 120 is inserted between the gripper jaw 131 and the gripper board 132 together with the sheet 1 so as to fold the sheet 1. The folding machine also includes gripper jaw interval adjustment means for adjusting an interval between the gripper jaw 131 and a tip of the folding blade 122 when the folding blade 122 of the folding cylinder 120 is inserted between the gripper jaw 131 and the gripper board 132 of the gripper device of the gripper cylinder 130.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
