To provide a folding type handle device for a bicycle that is easy to operate and easy to manufacture.
First and second holes (15a, 15b) are formed respectively on a first surface member (12) and a second surface member (13) of a handle mounting device (10), and a second portion (4) of a handle bar (2) is inserted therein and rotatably supported. A notch (18) extending over an angle range of about 90° from forward to a lateral side of a half-peripheral surface portion (16) of a third surface member (14) of the handle mounting device (10) is formed, and on an end portion of the front side and an end portion of the lateral side, first and second locking holes (18a, 18b) extending shortly and downward are provided respectively, and a protrusion (5) mounted on a second portion of the handle bar is engaged with the notch. The protrusion is constantly pulled by a tensile spring (6).
