To provide a food warmer by which cooked food can be preserved and delivered in the hottest possible state by using a heating element which reacts with water to generate heat.
The food warmer 1 is provided with a heat-insulating box 2 composed of a body 3 containing food to be kept warmer and a cover 4, a bottom mat 5 spread on the bottom of the body 3 and the heating element 6 which is mounted on the bottom mat 5 to react with air to generate heat. Vent holes 31 are arranged near the heating element 6 in the box 3. The inside of the box 2 is heated by heat which is generated by reaction between air entering the box 2 through the vent holes 31 and the heating element 6 and the food can be kept warm. The bottom mat 5 is made of a textured flat plate of aluminum foil and prevents deformation of the box body 3 by heat. Also, since a space is made between the underside of the heating element 6 and the bottom mat 5, the heat-generating agent properly comes into contact with the air and the heat-generating property of the heat-generating material is enhanced.
