Abstract:
To reduce accidents resulting from erroneous depression of a pedal, by enabling a driver to check contact of his or her foot with an accelerator pedal by means of an alarm light provided within an angle of view of the driver in a vehicle cabin and, accordingly, to provide a foot switch, made of resin, which securely electrically conducts even with a pressure applied by contact of the foot with the accelerator pedal and which can be attached to the accelerator pedal easily.SOLUTION: A structure of a foot switch is as follows: a spacer and binding-band insertion holes are provided between the respective rear parts of long surfaces of two upper and lower elastic resin plates, which correspond to each other; the upper plate is bent downward even with a pressure of 35 g, applied by contact of a foot with a pedal, so that two upper and lower electrodes come into contact with each other, thereby causing electric conduction, which is cancelled by separation of the foot from the pedal. The foot switch made of resin for attachment to an accelerator pedal comprises: fixing means using a fixed band in order to be attached to the accelerator pedal; and a pedal receiver disposed below a leading end of the long-surface front part of the lower plate in order to hold the accelerator pedal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
