Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain a long service life for a washing machine by embedding and integrally fixing an aluminum alloy flange at the bottom opening edge of the washing and dewatering bin (the tub) by means of insert forming, as a flange for covering the bottom of the tub, and thereby eliminating generation of cracks at the joint part with the flange.
CONSTITUTION: A flange 9 made of aluminum alloy is embedded and fixed by insert forming in the bottom of the synthetic resin tub 7, which is stored in an outer tub and which is provided with an agitator. In this case, the flange 9 is provided with a number of small holes 20, into which the synthetic resin is flowed in at the time of insert forming so that strength is increased for the joint between the flange 9 and the tub 7. In addition, in the lower face of the bottom of the tub 7, a synthetic resin part adjacent to the flange 9 is formed integrally with radial ribs 22 and circumferential ribs 23, so that the joint is further reinforced by intersecting both ribs 22, 23 with each other. Moreover, the drain hole 21 is formed so as to go through the flange 9 and the tub 7.
