PURPOSE: To eliminate the uncomfortable feel intrinsic to the foot wear while maintaining the waterproof property of the footwear by interposing a hygroscopic moistureproof fabric between the surface skin material and lining material of the footwear and incorporating an antimicrobial material into the hygroscopic moisture proof fabric and/or the lining material.

CONSTITUTION: This footwear is formed by interposing the hygroscopic moistureproof fabric between the surface skin material and lining material of the footwear. The lining includes woven and knitted fabrics, non-woven fabrics, etc. The hygroscopic moistureproof fabric includes laminate fabrics having a polymer layer on a fiber base fabric, high-density cloth, fiber structure constituted of an extremely fine and long fiber web or sheet, film, etc. The method of incorporating the antimicrobial material into the hygroscopic moistureproof fabric and/or the lining material includes a method of kneading the antimicrobial material into the fibers or films constituting the hygroscopic moistureproof fabric or the lining material and a method of sticking the antimicrobial material thereto by post processing. The footwear which eliminates the uncomfortability, such as moistening and smell, intrinsic to the footwear while having the waterproof property is provided. The antimicrobial material is incorporated in the hygroscopic moisture proof fabric and/or the lining material.
