Title:
FORCE MEASURING INSTRUMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2560258
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the forces acting on various kinds of traveling objects and the surface of the objects.
CONSTITUTION: A thin surface plate 1 made of duralumin is supported on numerous thin supporting plates 3 which are arranged in parallel with each other at short intervals in the lateral direction on a high-rigid frame 2 and made of duralumin by bonding the surface plate 1 to the supporting plates 3. Since the surface plate 1 has high rigidity in both the vertical and longitudinal directions and high flexibility in the lateral direction due to the supporting plates 3, the plate 1 does not caused much cross talk and becomes a light mobile section having a sufficiently high strength. Notched grooves 6 and 7 are made in the side section of the plate 1 and the outer projecting section 8 of the plate 1 is fixed to a frame 2, and a short strain detecting section 13 which concentrically applies forces to the space between notched grooves 6 and 7 is formed so that the section 13 can have a high spring constant while maintaining required sensitivity and its low cross talk property. The force applied to the section 13 is measured by detecting the shearing strain of the section 13 with a cross-type strain gauge.
