PURPOSE: To prevent intrusion of chips and the like between a table and a dead-stop by providing a jet port for fluid jetting on the dead-stop, and jetting a pressure fluid delivered from a pressure fluid feeding source to the table from the jet port when the table approaches the dead-stop.

CONSTITUTION: At every time a table 2 moving laterally approaches a dead-stop 10 at the left end or the right end, in a cutting process of a work 3 by a tool 9, a solenoid valve in an air blow unit 15 is opened to jet a compressed air to the table 2 from a jet port 13 of the dead-stop 10. When chips C produced in the cutting process are accumulated on a bed 1 near the dead-stop 10, they are blown off to the side by the pressure of the jetted compressed air. As the interval between the dead-stop 10 and the table 2 is the narrower, the force to blow off the chips C to the side is the stronger. Consequently, intrusion of chips C between the tip of the dead-stop 10 and the stiffening plate 2a of the table 2 can be prevented securely.
