To scratch off foreign matter to an auxiliary roll, to wipe off a lubri cating oil and to prevent the foreign matter from again rolling in without bring ing into contact with or separating from the roll by having a 1st wiper for wiping off the foreign matter and the lubricating oil by the tip part of the wiper and a 2nd wiper for scratching the foreign matter.
A felt plate 11 of which the tip part of the 1st wiper 10 is composed is attached freely attachably end detachably to a holder 12. The holder 12 is attached to a frame 13 and the end face of the felt plate 11 is always pressed against the roll surface of the auxiliary roll 4. The 2nd wiper 20 is composed by attaching a resin blade 21 of which the tip of the wiper is composed freely attachably and detachably to the holder 22. The holder 22 is attached to a frame 23 and the edge of the resin blade 21 is pressed against the roll surface at a prescribed angle. The contact points A, B are arranged so as to situate in the forward direction from the contact point 0 of the rolled stock 3 with the auxiliary roll 4. In the case of reversible rolling, an added 2nd wiper 20 is provided in opposite position and the 1st wiper is provided between them.
