To efficiently remove foreign matter such as a metal piece, a metal wire, coarse grain dust, or a plastic piece from exhaust gas of a vertical type melting surface.
The foreign matter removing device for exhaust gas of the vertical type melting furnace, configured to remove foreign matter in the exhaust gas includes; (a) a gas introduction pipe which comprises a truncated conical pipe for connecting a top opening to an exhaust gas pipe, a conduit part continuous to the bottom opening of the pipe and having an inner diameter equal to that of the bottom opening, and a bottom for closing the end of the conduit part, and which has a foreign matter exhaust port on a bottom side lower part of the conduit part; (b) a conical type barrier having a center axis arranged and matched with the axis of the gas introduction pipe inside the gas intrusion side of the gas introduction pipe and having a bottom surface diameter equal to or exceeding the inner diameter of the top opening of the truncated conical pipe; and (c) a gas lead-out pipe having its pipe axis matched with that of the gas introduction pipe on the bottom of the gas introduction pipe, and having an opening end attached to be positioned on the upstream side of the upstream end of a foreign matter outlet when viewed in a gas flowing direction, and having an inner diameter not exceeding the diameter of the bottom surface of the conical type barrier.
