To improve sureness of preventing generation of missing plant caused by foreign matter attached to the surface of a longitudinal transfer belt.
The seedling transplanter includes a lateral transfer mechanism to laterally reciprocate a seedling tray 17 with a definite stroke and a longitudinal transfer mechanism to circulate the longitudinal transfer belt 43 when the seedling tray 17 reaches right or left stroke end, and longitudinally transfer a seedling on the seedling tray 17 toward the lower end of the seedling tray 17 and is further provided with a removing means 60 to remove the foreign matter attached to the surface of the longitudinal transfer belt 43 at the back side of the seedling tray 17. The removing means 60 is constructed to work on a supported part 43A of the longitudinal transfer belt 43 supported by a roller 41 which rotatably supports the longitudinal transfer belt 43.
