Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more versatile apparatus for preventing a foreign object from being caught in a door.SOLUTION: A mechanical sensor 29 is provided which moves in a vehicle longitudinal direction with respect to a sliding door 1. The sensor 29 is pressed forward of a vehicle by a spring 35, and connected with a sensor wire 37 to a latch 11 of a door lock 7 fixed on the sliding door 1. In closing the sliding door 1, when the sensor 29 touches a foreign object, such as a finger, the sensor moves back and the sensor wire 37 is pulled accordingly. The latch 11 rotates to be located in a lock position. The latch 11 located in the lock position comes into contact with a striker 15, to restrict the sliding door 1 from moving further in a closing direction.
