Abstract:
To provide a forging member for nitriding which can expect high strength by a nitriding for a short time while securing machinability and its manufacturing method, as well as a manufacturing method of a surface hardened forging member.SOLUTION: A chemical composition contains, by mass%, C:0.05 to 0.15%, Si:0.05 to 0.50%, Mn:0.50 to 2.00%, Cr:0.50 to 1.50%, Mo:0.05 to 0.30%, Al:0.020% or smaller, V:0.10 to 0.70%, and the balance is made of Fe and inevitable impurity, and a formula 1: 75≥34×[Mn]+57×[Cr]-53×[V] is satisfied. An area rate of bainite is 80% or larger, and the surface hardness is 280 HV or smaller. As the characteristics when a nitriding treatment is applied, the surface hardness is 700 HV or larger, the core part hardness is 300 HV or larger, and it is possible to achieve that a curing depth from a surface at which the hardness becomes 400 HV or larger is 0.2 mm or larger by a treatment for two hours.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
