Abstract:

To provide a lightweight, thin enclosure of high quality which is made of a magnesium alloy by forging.

The forged thin enclosure is made of a magnesium alloy comprising, by weight, 1 to 6% Al, 0 to 2% Zn, ≤0.5% Mn, ≤0.2% trace elements, and the balance Mg with inevitable impurities, and the thickness of the main part is almost ≤1.0 mm. The corner part at the inside of the thin enclosure made by forging has a curved face with a small radius, also, prescribed signals integrally projected onto the outer face of the forged thin enclosure are provided, and further, the whole face of the forged thin enclosure is provided with a special composite anodic oxide film.
