To solve the following problems: in a technology to prevent forgery only by forming in a medium a latent image, which can be viewed through a planer polarizing plate, it is probably possible to imitate the medium itself including the latent image, then, in the situation where the polarizing plate can be easily obtained, the elaborate forgery can be relatively easily manufactured.
The forgery preventing medium includes a pattern which is formed in an area of parallel shade lines adjacent to one another, repeated with a prescribed width (w) and a prescribed pitch (p) on a reflection layer, the pattern is configured to form n-latent images. Each of the latent images includes a latent image 1 formed of a pattern 1 in one area 1 and a pattern in an area repeated from the area 1 at a pitch (np), a latent image 2 formed of a pattern 2 in an area adjacent to the one area 1 and a pattern in an area repeated from the area 2 at the pitch (np) and a latent image 3 formed of a pattern 3 in an area 3 adjacent to the area 2, and a pattern in an area repeated from the area 3 at the pitch (np). The forgery preventing medium includes n-latent images repeatedly formed in the same manner.
