PURPOSE: To eliminate burrs and reduce material loss by forming a shaft with a projecting part by pressing a projecting part by pressing a projecting part taking place in the stage side with a projecting part pressing punch.

CONSTITUTION: When heated rod shaped material 10 is arranged in a cylindrical hole 2 of dies the end 11 in the punch side of the rod shaped material 10 has become lower than the end 12 in the punch side of the dies 1. When an end pushing punch 6 and a projecting part pushing punch 7 are moved downward, the rod shaped material 10 is guided to the dies 1 by the reverse side of a stage part 3, and at the same time, it bulges out in the stage 3 side to produce a projecting part 13. This projecting part is pressed by the punch 7 to form a shaft with a projecting part 14. Namely, the rod shaped material 10 is formed into the shaft with a projecting part 14 by the end pusing punch 6, projecting part pushing punch 7, dies 1 and a knock out 5.
