To provide a form-rolling device capable of suppressing an adverse effect caused by inhibition of walking of a workpiece for form-rolling and an adverse effect caused by walking.
A braking force is adjusted such that: when an axial displacement distance ΔL of a workpiece W for form-rolling is less than a reference displacement distance (ΔLn), it is less than an axial displacement force R; and, when the axial displacement distance ΔL is equal to or larger than the reference displacement distance (ΔLn), it is equal to or larger than the axial displacement force R. Accordingly, the axial displacement distance of a workpiece W for form-rolling is inhibited to a distance equal to or less than the reference displacement distance by the braking force. As a result, the axial displacement distance of a workpiece W for form-rolling decreases, the formed region of an imperfectly processed portion adjacent to a processing-object portion decreases, and a degradation of a processing quality caused by walking can be inhibited. Furthermore, because the walking less than the reference displacement distance is admitted, degradation in a thread accuracy of a form-rolled product is small compared to the case in which the walking is completely inhibited. For this reason, a degradation of processing quality caused by inhibiting the walking can also be suppressed.
