Abstract:
To provide a curable aqueous formulation for a binder used in textile and nonwoven applications, where the binder is free from formaldehyde and has properties comparable to an N-methylolacrylamide (NMA)-containing binder.SOLUTION: A curable aqueous formulation comprises a) an emulsion polymer containing 0.1 to 20 wt.% of acid monomers, b) an oxazoline-containing polymer, and c) an aqueous acrylic polymer dispersion containing 40 to 100 wt.% of acid monomers and having a weight average molecular weight in the range from 2000 to 500000.SELECTED DRAWING: None
