PURPOSE: The titled adhesive, containing a modified PVA obtained by saponifying a copolymer consisting of a monomer, e.g. a vinyl ester of a higher fatty acid with a specific monomer and vinyl acetate, and having improved storage stability, initial adhesive property and cleanability.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive containing 0.2W10wt% modified PVA obtained by saponifying a copolymer containing (A) preferably 0.1W10mol% monomer selected from vinyl ester of a ≥5C fatty acid, vinyl ether having a ≥4C alkyl group and a ≥6C α-olefin, (B) preferably 0.1W10mol% monomer expressed by the formula (R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is alkyl; R3WR5 are H or alkyl; M is H or one equivalent of cation) and (C) vinyl acetate. A saturated vinyl ester of a saturated branched fatty acid is preferred as the component (A), and a monomer of the formula (R1, R4 and R5 are H; R3 and R3 are methyl) is preferred as the component (B).
