Title:
FORMAT CONVERTER FOR TELEVISION SIGNAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0750817
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily display a TV signal on a display device with simple configuration and less power consumption by converting the TV signal with a predetermined scanning line number, a predetermined interlace ratio and a predetermined field frequency into the TV signal having a different scanning line number by a formatter converter.

CONSTITUTION: A TV signal (input TV signal S) whose scanning line number is 1050, whose interlace ratio is 1:1 and whose field frequency is 59.94kHz is inputted from a signal source 1 to a TV receiver 8. The signal S is inputted to a 1st or 2nd format converter 4 or 5 through a changeover switch 3, in which the format is converted. The converter 4 converts the format of the TV signal S into a TV signal (output TV signal S1) whose scanning line number is 787.5, whose interlace ratio is 1:1 and whose field frequency is 59.94kHz. On the other hand, the converter 5 converts the format of the TV signal S into a TV signal (output TV signal S2) whose scanning line number is 1575, whose interlace ratio is 2:1 and whose field frequency is 59.94kHz. The signals S1, S2 are displayed on a display device 7 via a changeover switch 6.
