PURPOSE: To provide the method for formation of the casting mold for precision casting which has the strength of a green sand mold at the time of drying and the adequate mold strength at the time of dewaxing, does not generate cracking and features the good collapsing property of the casting mold after pouring and removability of the shell from a cast product.
CONSTITUTION: A silica sol binder which contains substantially no alkaline metals and has 4 to 50 millimicron average value of primary particle sizes and 0.1 to 0.6 micron average particle sizes by a dynamic light scattering method or a binder consisting of the silica sol binder as a binder and a water-soluble resin and/or resin emulsion having a thermosetting property is used as the binder in the method for formation of the casting mold for precision casting by using the binder and refractory powder.
