Abstract:

To form a ceramic layer capable of reducing the amt. of gas discharged from the inner wall of a cylinder made of FRP glass fiber reinforced plastics on the surface of the inner wall so that FRP can be used for a vacuum vessel.

Alumina powder of ≤10μm average particle diameter is plasma- sprayed in ≥30μm thickness in an atmosphere under a reduced pressure of ≤684Torr to form the objective alumina layer on the surface of the inner wall of a cylinder made of FRP for a vacuum vessel.
