To make shift to transfer with correct alignment and to embody a high-speed operation by providing the bore of a hollow drum with flanges of a large size, cooling these flanges before inserting the flanges into the drum and regulating lock screws in order to lessen the eccentricity of a drum assembly to a min. value.
Both ends of the hollow drum 234 are provided with the flanges 233 made of aluminum. The flanges 233 are formed to the size slightly larger than the bore of the hollow drum 234. The drum assembly is assembled by shrinking and fitting the flanges 233 into the hollow drum made of the aluminum. The shrinking and fitting are executed by inserting the flanges 233 into the hollow drum 234 of room temp. after cooling the flanges 233. Collars 232 are fixed to the flanges 233 by using three adjusting screws 235 arranged in the positions apart a prescribed angle so as to bring the collars 232 into pressurized contact. The eccentricity may be minimized by the adjustment of the lock screws 235. When the min. value is found, the lock screws 235 are locked in these positions.
