Abstract:
To prevent generation of a roll mark owing to a slip between a stock and a roll when an electric welded tube is subjected to break down forming.
In an earlier process of break down forming of an electric welded tube, both side parts of a metallic steel band 11 are formed into a circular shape. Then, the inner side of a part formed in the ore-stage is further formed by clamping and prsessing. The formed part is always clamped and pressed at a location near the driving diameter of a roll, so the difference of peripheral speed of rolling becomes small and no slip between the stock and the roll generates, which prevents generation of roll marks.
