To enable the rapid and easy formation of gathering parts by extending and arranging a heat shrinkable tension string to one surface of a tape main body, sewing, tightening and connecting the string to the tape main body at a prescribed pitch and thermally shrinking the string.

A tape main body 11 of a prescribed width is formed of a heat nonshrinkable textile material and a heat shrinkable tension string 13 is extended and arranged in the longitudinal direction on the side of one surface of the tape main body 1. The tension string 13 is simultaneously sewn, tightened, connected to the tape main body 11 at a prescribed pitch and then thermally shrunk to mutually draw connecting parts 11a of the tape body 11 to the tension string 14 near in the approaching direction.
