To obtain a guiding member for moving/sliding members high in flatness precision by turning the guiding surface of a sheet member toward the surface of a reference body, placing the guiding surface between the sheet member and a holding member through an adhesive and solidifying the adhesive on the reference body.

A liquid 30 having viscosity is dripped on the reference plane surface 28A of a surface plate 28. The sheet member 32 is placed on the liquid 30. The front surface of the sheet member 32 is coated with an adhesive 34 and a U-shaped plate member 26 is placed from above the adhesive 34. After it is solidified, the plate member 26 is lifted up from the surface plate, 28 then released. The sheet member 32 is fixed onto the plane surface of the plate member 26 with the adhesive 34 to obtain the guiding member consisting of the plate member 26 and the sheet member 32. The sheet member 32 is integrated on the surface of the plate member 26 in a state where the flatness of the sheet member 32 is maintained to from a traveling surface on the surface of the sheet member 32.
