Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form refractive index distribution in a planar direction by fixing the photosensitive refractive index control agent in a transparent base material by irradiating the base material with laser beam having intensity distribution to provide partial difference in fixing quantity.
CONSTITUTION: When the intensity of emitted beam to the wavelength of irradiation laser beam is represented by formula (wherein I0 is the intensity of incident beam, μ is an absorptivity coefficient and d is thickness), an absorptivity coefficient is 0.4-100/mm. A transparent base material 1 contains a photosensitive refractive index control agent and shows prescribed absorptivity to irradiation laser beam. The transparent base material is formed from a compsn. prepared by combining an appropriate material consisting of a monomer, an oligomer, inorg. matter or the like with a photo-reactive substance and shows transparency to wavelength light in a case used as a lens.
