Abstract:
PURPOSE:To uniformly form the LB film of a metal phthalocyanine deriv. used for the liquid crystal oriented film by moving a barrier from the surface side of a substrate opposite from the surface to be formed with monomolecular films. CONSTITUTION:The barrier 11 is moved from the surface side of the substrate 12 opposite from the surface to be formed with the monomolecular films at the time of laminating >=1 layers of the monomolecular films of the metal phthalocyanine deriv. on the substrate while dropping and developing the metal phthalocyanine deriv. expressed by formula I on the water surface and compressing the deriv. on one direction by the barrier 11. In the formula ((n) is an integer from 1 to 14) (where -CnH2n+1 is a straight chain or branched alkyl group); M is metals, such as Cu, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, Pt, Pd, Sn, Ti, Mg, and Mn). Since the direct pressure is not acted on the side opposite from the barrier 11, the LB film well unified with the arrangement of the molecules by the flow of the water is formed. Then, the uniform film unified with the molecules of the phthalocyanine is obtd. on the side opposite from the barrier 11.
