Abstract:

To provide a method of electrically separating vehicle units by under floor work.

In a formation vehicle composed of vehicle units connected to each other, power units for the vehicle units are electrically connected through a high-voltage straight-pull circuit pulled straight through unit vehicles making up the formation vehicle. The high-voltage straight-pull circuit is provided with high-voltage breakers that cut off power units between vehicle units. The high-voltage breaker includes a vacuum breaker which cuts off power supply to the power unit, and a mechanical breaker which is connected to the vacuum breaker and cuts off electrical connection between a plurality of power units connected to each other. The high-voltage breaker is installed under the floor of the vehicle so that an equipment box covering the mechanical breaker can be opened and closed. Hence the mechanical breaker is handled by under floor work.
