Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forming device and a method of a honeycomb structural body, in which the forming speed of the outer skin of the honeycomb structural body can be finely installed and the poor forming of the outer skin can be prevented from developing.
SOLUTION: This device is the forming device 1 of a ceramic honeycomb structural body 8 consisting of a mold 10 having slits 11 for forming a honeycomb structure and a guide ring 2 provided on the downstream side of the mold 10, which has an opening edge 21 for controlling the outer diameter of a molding and, at the same time, a pool part 22 for forming the outer skin of a honeycomb structural body at the upstream side from the opening edge 21. In the guide ring 2, a temperature controlling device 3 is provided.
