PURPOSE: To stabilize the quantity of damping water and obtain printed matter with favorable quality, by a method wherein a mixed liquid of an aqueous solution of sodium polyacrylate and an acrylic UV-curable resin is applied to the surface of a rubber roller, followed by hardening by irradiation with UV rays to provide a difficultly water soluble hydrophilic film on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: Into a solution obtained by dissolving sodium polyacrylate (polymerization degree: 2700W7500) in water in an amount of 15vol.%, an acrylic UV-curable resin is mixed in a ratio of 40:60W60:40. The mixed liquid thus obtained is applied to an NBR rubber roller or a PVC rubber roller, followed by hardening by irradiation with UV rays for about 15min to provide a difficultly water soluble hydrophilic film on the roller.
