Abstract:
To provide a method of easily forming a fine recessed part for receiving a lubricant on a rolling contact surface.
During hard turning process for a rolling contact surface (2), oscillation is given to a hard turning tool (4) mainly in a cutting direction of the tool (4). By this oscillation, a plurality of recessed parts (6) are formed on the rolling contact surface (2) thus subjected to hard turning by a controlled method. The recessed parts are formed in arcuate sectional faces before the finishing process, and by the recessed parts (6), oil film formation and lubrication are improved at operating a roller bearing having a bearing member.
