Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce film excellent in optical characteristics (or haze, gloss and clarity) at high speed by a method wherein molten resin bubble is stabilized by bringing thermoplastic resin having small melt tension to long neck type form.
CONSTITUTION: In the forming method of inflation film and the device suitable therefor, molten resin bubble 3 is noncontactingly held on the surface of a stabilizer 4 through air layer and, in addition, the temperature of the bubble 3 at the outlet of an air ring 5, which is provided at the expansion point of the bubble, is controlled so as to lie within the temperature domain ranging from the crystallization temperature of thermoplastic resin to the temperature, which is higher than the crystallization temperature by 60°C.
