Abstract:
AIM: To insulate the foundations and the rest of the construction from earthquakes. The anti-seismic plates (2) are airtight containers divided into two parts. In part (B) a vacuum is produced so that the longitudinal or primary seismic waves that are spread by means of solids and fluids become cancelled out to a large degree. In part (A), a liquid has been introduced under pressure to cancel out the lines of force from the transversal or secondary waves that are spread by means of solids. It must be highlighted that (F1) is the lateral force of the superficial seismic wave that acts on the plate, producing pressure on the liquid that compresses the footing (1) with a resulting zero. (F2) would be the imbalance of the faces that put pressure on the ground. APPLICATIONS: all types of foundations, large areas to save infrastructures, etc. ALTERNATIVES: conical footings, underground walls, support for beams, etc.
