Abstract:
To transmit the rotation of a crankshaft 5 to cam shafts 13, 14 by decelerating it to a half while using a timing belt even if an interval between the cam shafts 13, 14 is narrow like an engine for a light vehicle, related to a four-cycle engine for a combustion test.SOLUTION: The rotation of a crankshaft 5 is transmitted to an intermediate shaft 18 by being decelerated to, for example, 0.75 times by a first timing belt 21. The rotation of the intermediate shaft 18 is transmitted to cam shafts 13, 14 by being decelerated to 0.5/0.75 by a second timing belt 23. Since a reduction ratio to the cam shafts 13, 14 from the intermediate shaft 18 is low, deceleration can be performed while maintaining outside diameters of cam pulleys 15, 16 within an allowable range. Therefore, even if the engine is narrow in an interval between the cam shafts 13, 14, a test can be performed in the same state as that of an actual machine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
