Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression ignition internal combustion engine enabling stable combustion under a wide operation load condition, avoiding an increase in cost and an increase in weight.
SOLUTION: Engine oil to be used sub-fuel is filtered by an oil filter 16 after engine oil is pressurized by an oil pump 15, flow rate is regulated by a flow control solenoid valve 17 and engine oil is delivered to a fuel mixing chamber 12. In the fuel mixing chamber 12, gasoline to be main fuel and engine oil to be sub-fuel are mixed and mixed fuel is injected from a fuel injection value 9. An ECU 18 controls the flow control solenoid valve 17 according to an operation condition, regulates sub-fuel flow rate and controls ignitability and ignition timing for fuel-air mixture.
