Abstract:

To provide a four-stroke internal combustion engine 20.

The four-stroke internal combustion engine 20 comprises a crank chamber 124 arranged in a crank case 28, an oil reservoir 126 arranged in the crank case in flow communication with the crank chamber, a divider 116 for dividing the crank chamber in at least part from the oil reservoir, and holes 120, 122 formed in the divider. The crank chamber and the oil reservoir are always communicated with each other via the holes. A pressure difference is produced between the crank chamber and the oil reservoir by a pressure pulse in the crank chamber, to make lubricant flow first from the crank chamber via the holes into the oil reservoir and then from the oil reservoir via the holes into the crank chamber.
