PURPOSE: To control the correction of the posture of a vehicle matching the will of a driver by detecting the will of the driver to correct the posture of the vehicle when a slip of driving wheels is generated, and controlling the steering of the rear wheels to suppress the variation of the steering performance owing to the slip of the driving wheels only when the driver's will is detected.
CONSTITUTION: In a four-wheel drive steering control device which furnishes a rear wheel steering mechanism (a) to steer the rear wheels and can determine the rear wheel steering amount in the relation of the steering condition of the front wheels, the handle steering angle is detected by a handle steering angle detecting means (b). And the driving wheel slipping condition is detected by a driving wheel slip detecting means (c). Furthermore, when a driving wheel slip is generated, the handle operating variation amount of the side to correct the vehicle behavior is operated by a handle operating variation amount operation means (d). And only when the handle operating variation amount is generated, the rear wheels are steering-controlled in the direction to suppress the steering variation corresponding to the driving wheel slip amount by a rear wheel steering control means (e). Consequently, the correction of the vehicle posture matching the will of the driver can be controlled, in a turning operation to generate a driving slip.
