Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to control an amount of steering, etc. of a rear wheel according to a vehicle speed by arranging a mechanism for changing a piston travel to be transmitted between a front operation rod and a piston rod of a front cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When a front wheel 1 is steered for example to the left during high speed driving, as a small steering force suffices, oil pressure in a left oil pressure chamber 18 of a front cylinder 16 does not increase, a rubber member 125 does not deflect, a piston rod 20 moves by an approximately same travel with a rack bar 11, an amount of oil sent through an oil passage 36 to a rear cylinder is great, and a rear wheel is steered in the same direction with the front wheel without its steering amount being reduced. As the steering force becomes great during low speed driving on the other hand, the oil pressure in the left oil pressure chamber 18 increases, the rubber member 125 deflects, the amount of oil from the front cylinder 16 through the oil passage 36 to the rear cylinder becomes small, and the rear wheel is steered in the same direction with the front wheel with a reduced steering amount. Thus, stability during high speed driving and direction changing characteristic during low speed driving are improved.
