PURPOSE: To enable culture of various kinds of meet substrates at small lots, by lifting a working part for charging malt substrate and discharging produced malt and a working part for treating the malt substrate above radially extended partition walls and lowering the working parts when the parts are transferred to the adjacent partitioned bed by the rotation of a culture bed.

CONSTITUTION: Partition walls 3, 3' are attached on a rotary culture bed 2 and different kinds of malt substrates A' and B' are cultured in separated state. A screw 8 is rotated with a motor 11, a culture bed 2 is rotated with a driving device 15, the partition wall B is retreated by the vertical motion of the screw 8 and the rotation of the culture bed 2 after the charging of a substrate to the 1st partitioned bed and the charging to the 2nd partitioned bed is started. The culture bed 2 is transferred along the direction of the arrow, a treating apparatus 4 is driven with an inverter 6 to carry out the treatment of the substrate and the transfer speed is synchronized with the lifting and lowering motion of the treatment apparatus 4. The treatment apparatus 4 is transferred from the 2nd partitioned bed to the 1st partitioned bed by this process.
