PURPOSE: To crate packages into a crate automatically even in the case where a fractional number of packages are generated with a change of the kind of package.

CONSTITUTION: A fractional number of package treating device for crating machine has a carrying conveyor 12, an aligning means for aligning packages 11 on the carrying conveyor 12, and a pusher 23 for pushing package lines P1-P3 from the side thereof. The pusher 23 can be made go forward and backward with a short stroke and a long stroke, and the speed thereof can be changed for the movement at a high speed and a low speed. At the time of the ordinary mode, the pusher 23 is moved at a high speed, and when the fractional number treating mode is selected, the pusher 23 is moved at a low speed. Since the stroke for pushing a fractional number of packages is shorter than the stroke for pushing former package lines P1, P2, are not moved by the fractional number of packages to eliminate the disturbance of line of the packages 11.
