Title:
FRAGRANCE PRESERVATIVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000344645
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a fragrance preservative enabling its initial fragrant tone to be sustained for a long period of time, and when formulated in a detergent, capable of leaving fragrance on objects even after laundered with the detergent thus formulated therewith by using a polymer having phosphorylcholine- analogous group on the side chain.

This fragrance preservative comprises a polymer having phosphorylcholine-analogous group of formula I (R1 to R3 are each H or a 1-8C alkyl; m is 1-4) on the side chain; wherein the polymer is pref. a homopolymer of a monomer having the group of formula I and radical- polymerizable double bond in the molecule, for example, a monomer of formula II [R1 to R3 are each 1-8C alkyl; R4 is H pr methyl; R5 has a group of (BO)jB (B is a 2-4C alkylene; O is oxygen atom; j is 0-8)], or a copolymer of the monomer and another radical-polymerizable monomer, and the (co)polymer is pref. 10,000-5,000,000 in weight-average molecular weight. This fragrance preservative is effectively usable, in particular for pets, in skin preparations for external use and detergents.
