Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate necessity for removing existing supports when installing equipment on an existing free access floor by a method wherein floor joists are laid continuously on the supports and the equipment is supported with the floor joists.
SOLUTION: A supporting metal fixture 3 with a bolt 4 screwed down perpendicularly therein is connected to the upper end of a support 2, and a floor joist 5 is connected to the supporting metal fixture 3 with the bolt 4. The floor joist 5 is divided into sections each corresponding to each of spans between adjoining supports 2, 2 with connecting pieces formed at both ends. The connecting pieces of the adjoining floor joists 5, 5 are overlapped each other on the support 2 and fixed to the support 2 with the bolt while being connected together with the bolt piercing through both of the connecting pieces, and the floor joists are connected in continuity in one direction. A panel fixer 7 for connecting a floor panel 6 thereto is fixed to a part where the floor joists 5, 5 are overlapped, and the floor panel 6 is connected to or engaged with the panel fixers 7 at its four corners and thereby supported at its two side with the floor joists 5, 5 running parallel with each other so that the floor panel can be restricted from moving in the horizontal plane.
