PURPOSE: To facilitate the takeout of a conveyed article in a conveyance passage, to a working position, and the return of the article from the position, by providing a shuttle conveyor, which is moved back and forth by a prescribed length as the conveyed article is on the conveyor, and by mounting lifters or lifters with conveying units, at prescribed intervals along the conveyor.
CONSTITUTION: A shuttle conveyor 9 is constructed in such a manner that a bar 8 supported at the top, bottom, right and left with cam followers 7 on a conveyor frame 6 is reciprocated by a prescribed distance along a conveyance passage. Forks 11, on which conveyed articles 10 are put, are mounted at prescribed intervals on the bar 8. Lifters 12 are provided at the ends of the stroke of the reciprocation of the forks 11 on the shuttle conveyor 9 so that the conveyed articles are moved, in the state of being supported on contact plates 20 moved up or down by cylinders 19, to such an upper position as not to interfere with the conveyor 9. Lifters with conveying units for moving the conveyed articles horizontally from said upper position may be provided if necessary.
