Abstract:
To provide a free-type bidirectional clutch having an excellent responsiveness.SOLUTION: Inside a housing 4, there are arranged: a tongue-like piece 32 fastened to an input shaft 6; an output gear 38 fastened to an output shaft 8; an intermediate gear 42 that engages with the output gear 38; an operation gear 44 that engages with the intermediate gear 42; and a carrier that rotationally supports the intermediate gear 42 and the operation gear 44. The tongue-like piece 32 includes a pair of arc-shaped recessed surfaces 32a, 32b formed at positions opposite to each other. On a rotational shaft 56 of the operation gear 44, a one-way clutch 60 is fitted that permits an idling rotation in rotational directions different from each other. When the input shaft 6 rotates, the arc-shaped recessed surface 32a comes into contact with an outer peripheral surface of the one-way clutch 60 such that the tongue-like piece 32 rotates the carrier to one side in a circumferential direction via the operation gear 44. Also, when autorotation of the operation gear 44 is blocked by the one-way clutch 60, the output gear 38 rotates along with the revolution of the operation gear 44.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
