PURPOSE: To check penetration of a leaking refrigerant into a freezer- refrigerator, to prevent it from reaching combustible concentration and to eliminate a source of combustion.

CONSTITUTION: This freezer-refrigerant is equipped with a refrigerating cycle in which a refrigerant discharged from a compressor 17 passes through a condenser 11, a restrictor 21 and an evaporator 25 and returns to the compressor 17 again and with a refrigerant leakage detecting means S3 and uses a combustible refrigerant. The refrigerant leakage detecting means S3 stops the operation of the compressor 17 when it detects a leakage of the refrigerant.
