To provide a refrigerating or air-conditioning system and its replacement method diverting existing refrigerant piping to shorten a construction period of replacement work and to reduce a replacement cost and reducing a pressure loss in refrigerant piping to improve the efficiency of the system while being useful for global environment protection.
This refrigerating or air-conditioning system is provided with a heat source machine A having a compressor 1, a four-way selector valve 2 and a heat source side heat exchanger 3; indoor units B, C having load side heat exchangers 11b, 11c and flow control devices 12b, 12c; and a flow dividing controller D connecting the heat source machine A and the indoor units B, C through first and second connection piping 6, 7 and having a valve device 13 for connecting one end part of load side heat exchangers 11b, 11c selectively to the first and second connection piping 6, 7. The first and second connection piping 6, 7 are formed of the existing connection piping for an old refrigerant, and at least one of the heat source machine and indoor units is formed of a replacing machine for a new refrigerant higher in operating pressure than the old refrigerant.
