To provide a freezing apparatus which discriminates a decrease of heat-transfer performance at a refrigerant side and that of a water side, and controls a compressor.
The freezing apparatus includes: a freezing cycle device 1a in which a freezing cycle is formed such that a compressor 2, a condenser 3, an expanding valve 4, and a plate-type heat exchanger 5 are connected in this order via a refrigerant pipe; a temperature detecting means 6 which detects a refrigerant temperature at an absorbing side of the compressor; a pressure detecting means 7 which detects a refrigerant pressure at the absorbing side of the compressor; a controlling means which calculates a degree of superheat of refrigerant of the compressor 2 based on the refrigerant pressure detected by the pressure detecting means 7 and the refrigerant temperature detected by the temperature detecting means 6 and which controls a capacitance of the compressor 2 based on the refrigerant pressure and the degree of superheat of the refrigerant.
