Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freezing apparatus capable of producing ice of a sufficiently low concentration of salts such as sodium chloride.SOLUTION: A freezing apparatus is equipped with a cylinder that holds an aqueous solution of salts such as sodium chloride and is inserted into a refrigerator from its bottom toward its upper part. The aqueous solution begins to freeze from the lower part and the salts such as sodium chloride near a solid-liquid interface diffuse into the aqueous solution. An agitator promotes the diffusion. Travel speed of the cylinder and revolution speed of the agitator are controlled to obtain a target concentration of the salts such as sodium chloride. A heat source of a low level can be used by using an ammonia absorption refrigerator.
