To secure the starting while preventing the flow-in of the lubricating oil from a suction muffler to a rotary compressor at the time of starting.
A muffler 5 is inclined for arrangement so that a suction pipe 51 is positioned higher by the predetermined angle in relation to the horizontal surface HL. With this structure, the lubricating oil 53 is stored inside of the muffler 5 at a level of the horizontal surface HL, and a connection part of the suction pipe 51 and the muffler 5 is not filled with the lubricating oil 53, and an upper part inside of the muffler 5 is formed with a space 54. In this condition, when a rotary compressor is started again for cooling, since the lubricating oil 53 is not stored in the upper part inside of the pipe 51 and the muffler 53, even if the rotary compressor is rotated, the lubricating oil 53 is sucked so as to prevent the flow-in of the lubricating oil to the rotary compressor. Consequently, a compression load of the compressor is not increased, and the rotary compressor can be sufficiently started at the rated voltage. Even in the case of the rated voltage, of which allowable fluctuation is low, the rotary compressor can be securely started.
